You spoke and we listened. Now there is a more affordable way to save for State University credit hours. Introducing the new 1-Year Florida University Plan. With the 1-Year Florida University Plan, you can purchase one year of State University credit hours at a time according to your budget and timeline, without feeling the pressure of having to buy all four years at once. Buy one year now and another year later when you can afford it. The plan also allows multiple purchasers to buy a plan for the same child. So now you can team up with other family members to help pay for your child’s higher education. For example, let Grandma and Grandpa buy one year and you purchase another. Each purchaser can have their own separate account and a child can have up to four 1-Year Florida University Plans.
The 1-Year Florida University Plan covers tuition, tuition differential fee and other specified fees at a State University for 30 credit hours – one quarter of the 120 credit hours generally needed to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Ranked in the top five in the nation for research and development, the state university system is spread across the state and features Florida’s two preeminent universities, Florida State University and the University of Florida.
Here is what you’ll need to enroll:
The 1-Year Florida University Plan is our most flexible plan to date. With an array of options, you can better control how your plan works best for you going forward. You can choose to buy one year at a time, and others can help by purchasing plans for your student at times you see fit. And, as always, the amount covered by this plan can also be applied to other schools nationwide. Also, other important flexibility considerations include:
Prepaid Plans and Savings Plans work well together. For example, you could use a Prepaid Plan to cover up to four years of tuition and fees and a Savings Plan to pay for books, a computer, room and board. If you don’t want to use a Prepaid Plan to save for all four years of tuition and fees, you could purchase a 2-Year Florida College Plan or one or more 1-Year University Plans and also open a Savings Plan.
The 1-Year Florida University Plan is designed to be used for 30 credit hours at a State University, but the amount covered by the plan can also be applied to other schools nationwide. Visit the Schools page for more information.
